Merry Christbuddhamas and Happy Holidays to All from Northeast Thailand

It is said the Ajahn Chah led the first observation of  Christbuddhamas at Wat Nong Pah Pong back during the Vietnam War when many of the troops from the US airbase were visiting. It has been celebrated by the Sangha and laypeople at the family of monasteries in England for many years now The holidays that arrive at the end of each year are often, among other things, a time for reflection and this year I happened upon my reflection offered by Ajahn Sumedho titled The Point of Intersection Between Timeless and Time and the concept  of
‘I rejoice in the inconceivably vast oceans of good actions performed by conscious beings since beginningless time’  slapped me  right up side my head For those who are not familiar with contemplation it is clearly and concisely expalined …

For those who do formal sitting meditation it is quite easily incorporated, but driving down the roads of Thailand it is especially useful and as part of daily life it is an amazing tool in investigating the judging mind Whatever the case may be Merry Christbuddhamas and Happy Holidays to All from Northeast Thailand.

And Offer You This

I now intensely cultivate universal love, wishing for all conscious beings only true happiness, fulfillment, peace and freedom from suffering, I experience great ecstatic joy at the very thought of con-scious beings abiding forever in equinimity and bliss, free from every obvious fearand subtle anxiety.
As universal love increases in this mind stream, harmful forces cannot affect me, and I become a protector of living beings I sympathetically rejoice in the inconceivably vast oceans of good actions performed by conscious beings since beginningless time skillfully in accord with the varying capacities of conscious beings. I deeply rejoice in all authentic religious and moral teachings which have elevated any person into selfless love. I rejoice as well in all kind actions performed by or for even the least evolved sentient being. remember constantly that all societies and relationships, in order to be fruitful, can be based upon and sustained by loving-kindness alone
