bun khao phansa.Every monk has to stay at  his own monastery for three months  during the rainy season in order  to study dharma and keep Precepts. The lay people offer alms, keep  Precepts, and meditate.
Monks are meant to keep the Vinaya constantly. The Rains retreat is generally a time to dwell on study and improving conduct and meditative practices. This is also a tome for the laity to improve their practice and support the Sangha….
