I will show you what the road is like from Khon Kaen to Camp Khon Kaen about 12 or so Kilometers out of town.
Also to the airstrip in Nam Phong you go North for 31 kilometers to Nam Phong, over the bridge and U-turn onto the road to the village of Nam Phong continue on enroute to Kranuan until you see the fate to the airbase on the right(from NamPhong Village it is about 10 Kilometers ti the airbase. I will be reposting my Khon Kaen and other maps soon. I had not had a chance to check out the airstrip before even though I know a few guys associated. PS ignore time date stamp was 2nd of May 2013

Pottery, Wang Thua, Nam Phong District, Khon Kaen, Thailand

Wang Thua near  the Pong River is a village full of kilns and small pottery production sites. It seems to depend on OTOP to distribute their products. There is plenty of variety available at prices that are quite competitive. This is a place you are going to have to visit a couple times to work out their schedule. Figure out the best times to be there to see pottery being made and other times to witness the kilns in action, being filled and being emptied.

Nezha, Beung Kaen Nakhon, Khon Kaen, Isaan, Thailand

nezhaBack on 09.10.11 the Chinese community dedicated the new Nezha statue at the Beung.  Here is an exerpt from wikipedia or, which seems to match other things I have read. I have received a number of questions about the statue and story

. As a matter of fact someone told me that they went into the Tourism Authority of Thailand office, that is now located nearby on Beung Kaen Nakhon and they didn’t have a clue, not even knowing the name. Anyhow following is a little help from Wikipedia which seems to be generally correct.  Click to read the whole article

Yaam on the Lake, Beung Kaen Nakhon, Khon Kaen, Thailand

bknBeung Kaen Nakhon sits in a popular part of town, in a popular town park. Walking, jogging excersizing and of course eating.
Yaam is a spicy salad. Remember Tom Yaam Is spicy salad soup ( boiled) and a green salad is usualy caled either saalat or phaak saalat.
These folks are always great to have a chat wit, and very nice to buy food from. Not to hot just right
The area is home to many of the towns restaurants as well as many popular night spots.Food stalls open at the Northwest area of the park about 1700h nearlt 365 days a year.

But rest assured you won’t lack for food wherever you are in the area.
